I’m not sure exactly when it started, but one day I realized I could use less plastic. It probably came from seeing so much trash while traveling, seeing styrofoams plates being washed away in the ocean and chickens digging in old chip bags for food. I decided I was going to do better.
I can’t change the people around me, so I started in the only place I knew I could make an impact: my own life. I traded plastic produce bags for reusable ones. I switched my skincare routine to glass jars and more natural products. I’m transitioning to natural, bar shampoo. It didn’t happen overnight, and it’s not done happening either. I’m still changing, still improving.
I’m not perfect, and that’s okay
I want to share my journey with those who want to make their first step but don’t know where to start. I know that going “zero waste” seems scary. Can I really do it? And if I can’t do it, is it even worth trying? My answer is YES!
I want you to know that every small step counts, even if you don’t think it does. Even if you just say no to one plastic bag or one plastic straw, it’s something. And something is better than nothing. This planet needs all the somethings it can get.
I’m so glad to have you on this journey!
